ACP Girls Play Pickleball!

The Class of 2026 Senior Rep Team’s first team shoot was more than I could have asked for. It was a bit of a toss up going into it, (thanks weather!) but truly am obsessed with these girls and photos! Evelynn, Mady, and Suzanna showed up and out on this July day!

This was my first organized team shoot with the girls. I went into it with a loose plan and these girlies exceeded my expectations! But a note for next time- have a tighter plan.🤪 My original idea for pickleball senior photos was to go to a court that looked nice and pretty and had good light. I took a drive over and it was PACKED! We all know pickleball is having her moment right now, and everyone wants in on the fun. I knew we stood no shot of getting into there to take up a court for a photoshoot. So I pivoted last minute. We went to my local soccer fields that have had tennis courts for as long as I can remember but I remembered someone telling me that they added pickleball courts to it. I said- it will do! 

It’s peak July at this point, though, and if you know summer weather in Virginia, you know between 4 and 6pm, it POURS. I’m trying to decide if we wait it out (clear skies and sunny after this rain storm!). But then we have to deal with everything being wet, or cancel and likely deal with this issue again. I was sitting in my car at the courts and saw a little peak of sun and a rainbow and said, “heck, we’re doing this!”. So, I pushed our start time back thirty minutes, and the girls met me at the courts just in time for the sun! And it is an east coast July after all, so the sun dried the courts in no time! But dang was it humid.🥵

Now let’s talk about these three incredible seniors. Evelynn, Mady, and Suzanna had only met once before this shoot—once!—and yet they showed up in front of the camera like they’d been friends for years! They were natural, confident, and brought such amazing energy to every shot. Look how cutie they are!!

And hello- outfits?! Our group chat was yapping about what to wear and since Mady and Evelynn had pink and blue, Suzanna thought to coordinate with them and wear tones that complemented them! They created the most perfect pop of color against those pickleball courts and the gorgeous post-rain golden hour. Once the sun set enough, we also had a little fun with some direct flash photos!

I planned for this team for close to a year before getting to see our first shoot come to fruition and it truly reminded me why I love what I do. Getting to work with such sweet seniors, who are more fun than I ever could have imagined, is the best part of my job, and I cannot wait to see what else this Class of 2026 Senior Rep Team has in store. If this first shoot is any indication, we’re going to have an absolutely incredible year together!
